Rent the Proaim Powermatic Scissor Pro 5.2m Telescopic Crane in London & the UK from Moonshine Film.

with stand, Anchor Dolly and motorised control

A compact, motorised telescopic crane designed to bring precise, repeatable camera movement into spaces where a conventional Technocrane simply isn't practical.

The Proaim Powermatic Scissor Crane gives productions up to 5.2m / 17ft of telescopic reach from a compact, transportable system. Its motorised scissor mechanism allows the arm to extend and retract smoothly under remote control, opening up high, low, push-in and pull-out camera moves with a level of repeatability that's difficult to achieve with a conventional manual jib.

With a 15kg / 33lb payload, it is designed to carry professional camera packages and 3-axis motorised gimbals.

The Powermatic Scissor Pro is built for professional camera configurations and is compatible with 3-axis camera gimbals, making it suitable for a wide range of cinema camera and stabilised head combinations.

The crane's powered scissor mechanism can be controlled remotely, allowing the operator to extend and retract the arm with adjustable movement speed and damping control.

With a maximum travelling speed of approximately 36mm/sec, the system can produce controlled push-in and pull-out movements while maintaining a smooth, repeatable motion. The motor is specified at less than 55dB, with no noticeable vibration according to Proaim's published specifications.

This crane operates from a V-Mount battery.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What camera weight can the crane carry?

The Powermatic Scissor Pro is rated for a 15kg / 33lb payload, including professional camera rigs and compatible 3-axis gimbals.

Is the crane motorised?

Yes. The scissor arm is motorised and controlled remotely, allowing the operator to extend and retract the crane at controlled speeds.

Can I use a 3-axis gimbal?

Yes. The crane is specifically designed to work with professional camera rigs and 3-axis camera gimbals, making it well suited to stabilised cinema-camera moves.

What powers the crane?

The crane uses a V-Mount battery or compatible external power supply. Proaim specifies approximately 1.5–2 hours of battery runtime, although actual runtime will depend on the battery and operating conditions.

Can it be used on location?

Yes. The system is designed to be transported and deployed on location, with the crane, stand and dolly breaking down for transportation and the crane system supplied with a flight case.

Does Moonshine provide a crane operator?

Yes. Moonshine Film can provide the crane alongside experienced camera and crane crew, depending on the requirements of the production.

Can Moonshine build a complete camera package around the crane?

Yes. We can build the system around the camera movement you're looking for, including cinema cameras, lenses, 3-axis gimbals, monitoring, wireless video and additional camera accessories.

If you're unsure whether this crane is the right tool for the shot, send us your storyboard, reference or movement and we'll help work out the most suitable configuration.

Yes. To book any dry-hire equipment from us, no matter how big or small the hire is, you need an approved and open account with us.

What's the Cancellation Policy?

Once a booking has been confirmed, Moonshine Film allocates, prepares, and reserves equipment and resources exclusively for that hire period. Cancellations or reductions may therefore incur a charge to cover these costs and the loss of opportunity to rehire the equipment.

The following charges apply in the event of cancellation or reduction of a confirmed booking:

• More than 7 days before the hire period: 10% of the total hire fee.
• 3–7 days before the hire period: 25% of the total hire fee.
• 48–72 hours before the hire period: 50% of the total hire fee.
• Less than 48 hours before the hire period: 100% of the total hire fee.

What documentation do I need to register for an account?

You will need some identification (drivers license or passport), proof of address and proof of insurance if the kit is over £1000.

What are the timings for collection & return for a one day hire?

If you collect the evening before your shoot and return the morning after, this counts as a one day rental.

Can I hire camera crew as well?

Absolutely, we are known primarily for being a wet hire company, providing competent & reliable crew to accompany your kit. We offer a No-Nonsense system through our packages.

Do you offer multi-day discounts?

Yes, contact us for weekly rates or custom packages, we are happy to be flexible to cater to your needs.

Do you deliver?

Yes. We can deliver across London in our dedicated Camera Unit Van, however, we would always recommend hiring a camera assistant for your ease as delivery/collection is included...

How does the minimum order work?

We have a minimum order in place to reflect staff pay, logistical load & our standing as a boutique kit & crew service. The minimum order is currently £150 + VAT for dry hires.

What happens if I lose the equipment or it's been stolen?

Reach out to us through WhatsApp at +44 20 8050 5285. Depending on the nature of the incident, it may be necessary to inform both the police and your insurance company as well.
